After our amazing time in the south, it was time to head back up to Bangkok. Isaac had been on a business trip to China, and managed to wrangle a week long stopover in Thailand. Seriously, like meeting Kent in KL, it was the craziest feeling meeting a buddy from home, halfway around the world.

Out for breakfast and a latte.
Car/truck/vespa/crazy sight spotting on the bus to the weekend market.
We had a trip to Madame Tussauds wax museum.
In the Whitehouse.
Sarah was asked to give a speech about the effects of tourism on indoor plant growth. She was really convincing.
The disagreed over the formula.
Isaac was singing parts. Ol Pav' here was a great audience.
And just as he looked away...
Sore losers.
I soon replaced those shorts.
MJ
"and i was like hellooo, you are sooo yesterday."
Dangerous looking bodyguards.
Captain Jack
Bruce Lee
Swoon
This guy was getting all up in my grill.
Oh dear
No wait... that's not Tom Cruise is it?
This one below is an interactive combo of cameras and a projector. You have to knock this guy over, which Isaac managed to do...
Swoon... again...
Shot back to the Taj for a snap.
Jealousy!
After our wax museum visit, we went to the hard rock cafe for dinner. None of us had been there, and it sounded like a great novelty. What a shock to find that food and drink were all the prices we would pay at home... but wow, what an amazing meal. This sundae Isaac ordered was huge.
And to complete the indulgence... Hour long foot massages on Kao San Road.
After that, we took a day trip from Bangkok, to see the famous bridge over the river Kwai. There was an ancient museum, and a cool floating restaurant, and lots of tourists. Its always sad visiting war museums.
The bridge. This is the bridge from the real event, the Japanese heard the allied bombers coming, and sent out a whole load of allied prisoners onto the bridge. The idea was that the bombers would see them on the bridge and not drop the bombs, but weather or not they realised there were people on the bridge, they still bombed it.The film of the event which is probably more famous, was actually shot somewhere in Sri Lanka.
The bridge again.
Floating restaurant.
This poor wee girl was sitting on the sidewalk eating some rice off the ground. Its pretty heartbreaking to see stuff like this in real life.
See, we weren't the only ones to have crazy facials while being eaten!
And finally, the night before Kent and Isaac headed home to NZ. The four musketeers! What an awesome time - look forward to more of the same one day.
